We offer photographic trips and Exotic/Feral Hog hunting year around, Rio Grande Turkey hunts in April & early May and Whitetail hunting from October through February each year. The weather in central Texas varies dramatically from summer to winter. Suggested clothing based on different times of the year is below.
Mid March – Mid May: Weather can be from 45 – 60 degrees in the morning and upwards into the 80 during the day. Snake boots are recommended as the Rattle Snakes are active this time of the year. You will want to bring jeans as well as long sleeve and short sleeve shirts. Bring a light jacket just in case there is a chill in the morning.
Mid May - Mid October: Weather heats up dramatically in central Texas during the summer. Expect temperatures to be in the 80's at daylight and 95 – 110 during the day with temperatures remaining over 90 degrees at nightfall. We normally are in the field from daylight to about 9:00 am and then again from 5:00 pm to nightfall. Wear light breathable clothing, snake boots are recommended. Hog hunting is conducted at night.
Mid October – Mid March: The weather cools down in late October and can get into the 20’s & 30’s in late November thru the first of March. Snakes are much less active in the winter, but we still recommend some type of snake boots. We recommend layered clothing in the winter & always have a heavy coat …just in case we experience a “blue norther.”
We furnish bottled water and soft drinks at the ranch. Clients may bring alcohol with them if they wish. We do have a rifle range on the ranch for our clients use.
